Fatma Taskin

Associate Professor of Economics at Bilkent University

Fatma Taskin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at Bilkent University. She received her BS and MSc Middle East Technical University in 1979, and her PhD from Boston College in 1988, in economics. She has worked on several consultancy projects with the Eximbank of Turkey and the World Bank. She has served as the Chair of the Department of Economics at Bilkent University during 2003-2011. She has been a member and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Turkish Fulbright Commission. Taskin’s research topics have included various aspects of macroeconomics, international economics and finance such as stock market and savings behavior in developing countries; and studies of cross country productivity, efficiency measurements and environmental efficiency changes. Her research in these areas has been published in journals such as the Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Economics and Business, Environmental and Resource Economics, Journal of Environmental Management, and Economic Policy. She has been a recipient of best paper awards from Economics Research Forum, and TOBB Research Awards on the Turkish Economy.
