Filip Keereman

Head of Monitoring National Financial Developments and External Funding, Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs at European Commission

Filip Keereman studied economics at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), obtained an MBA at the University of Chicago (USA) and holds a PhD. from the European University Institute in Florence (Italy). He joined the research department of Kredietbank (now KBC) in 1984. As an Official of the European Commission since 1986, he has dealt with the liberalisation of capital movements, monetary integration, economic forecasts, fiscal policy and EU enlargement. Currently, he is Head of Monitoring National Financial Developments and External Funding in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs. He published on financial integration, forecast accuracy and the new EU Member States.
