Francesco Columba

Senior Economist, Western Hemisphere Department at International Monetary Fund

Francesco Columba is a Senior Economist in the North American Division of the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Previously he was a Senior Economist in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the IMF and before that in the Research Department of the Bank of Italy. His research interests are in financial economics, macroeconomics and monetary economics. His current research is on banking, financial stability and monetary policy issues, especially in North America. He has been a Visiting Scholar at NBER. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Rome, Tor Vergata and an MSc, in Economics from University College London.
