Geneviève Verdier

Geneviève Verdier is the Deputy Division chief of the Expenditure Policy Division of the IMF's Fiscal Affairs Department. Prior to joining the IMF, she was an assistant professor at Texas A&M University. She previously worked as an economist in the Research Department of the Bank of Canada, as well as the IMF's Strategy, Policy and Review Department; African Department; and Institue for Capacity Development. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Her work to date and publications in IMF research and policy publications, books and peer-reviewed journals cover a wide range of macroeconomic issues related to public spending efficiency, public investment, sovereign debt restructuring, economic growth, international macroeconomics and financial development.
