Giorgio Barba Navaretti is Professor of Economics at the University of Milan, Distinguished Visiting Faculty at Sciences Po, Paris, Research Fellow of CEPR and Scientific Director of the Centro Studi Luca d’Agliano.
He has been working extensively on the economics of multinational firms, on firms’ dynamics and competitiveness, on international banking and capital markets and on several other international economic policy issues.
He serves as President of the Collegio Carlo Alberto Foundation and of the National Institute of Molecular Genetics (INGM) “Romeo and Enrica Invernizzi” and as Vice President of Unicredit Foundation,
He is or has been a consultant for many international organisations, including the European Central Bank, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, the OECD and the European Commission and for several Italian public institutions like the Bank of Italy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He published many papers in international academic journals and books, including Multinationals Firms in the World Economy with Anthony J. Venables (Princeton University Press; in Italian Le multinazionali nell’economia mondiale, Il Mulino)
He has a PhD in Economics from Oxford University and a Degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan.
