Gunes Kamber

Gunes Kamber is a senior financial sector expert at the Monetary and Capital Markets department of the IMF. His policy work and research focus on monetary policy frameworks, inflation dynamics and international spillovers. Previously, he was with the BIS, based at their Representative Office for Asia and the Pacific in Hong Kong, and he has worked as an adviser in the Modelling Division of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. He received a PhD in economics from the Paris School of Economics, a master’s degree in in macroeconomics from the University of Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and a bachelor's degree in economics from Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Luis Brandao Marques is a Deputy Chief in the Advanced Economies Unit of the European Department, where he works on the euro area. His research covers international finance and macro-financial issues. He has published in the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Rochester.
