Gustavo Suarez is the Chief of the Capital Markets section at the Federal Reserve Board. He received his PhD in Economics from Harvard University. His main research interest are corporate finance and financial stability. He has written about the 2007-2008 financial crisis, the interest-rate sensitivity of corporate investment, short-term debt markets, government support of banks, and bank risk taking. His work has been published in, among others, the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.
