Harry Mamaysky

Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia University

Harry Mamaysky is a Professor of Professional Practice at Columbia Business School, where he is the Director of the Program for Financial Studies. Harry started his career in academia at the Yale School of Management, then spent over ten years working as a portfolio manager for Morgan Stanley, Old Lane, and Citigroup, before returning to academia a few years ago. In his research, Harry uses natural language processing techniques applied to large text data sets to study how markets respond to information. His research has appeared in leading journals, like the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Political Economy, among others. Harry is a frequent presenter in academic and industry forums, and is an active consultant for financial services firms.
