Associate Professor at Harvard Business School

Hong Luo is the James Dinan and Elizabeth Miller Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. Her research centers on firms’ innovation incentives, their strategies in the market for ideas and managing intellectual property rights. An integral part of her research concerns the impacts of legal regimes and public policies – in particular, intellectual property regimes and tort liability systems – on firms’ innovation activities. Professor Luo’s work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals including Management Science, Organization Science, Journal of Law and Economics, and Journal of Economics and Management Strategy. Professor Luo currently serves as an Associate Editor at Management Science. Professor Luo received her Ph.D. in Economics from Stern School of Business, New York University, where she was a recipient of the Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship in Entrepreneurship Research.
