Ignazio Visco

Governor at Bank Of Italy

Ignazio Visco has been Governor of the Bank of Italy since 2011, having started his career at the Bank in 1972 where was appointed Head of the Research Department in 1990. From 1997 to 2002 he was Chief Economist and Director of the Economic Department of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and is the author of various articles and books including: Price Expectations in Rising Inflation, North Holland, 1984; Saving and the Accumulation of Wealth (ed. with A.
