Indermit Gill

Chief Economist of the Europe and Central Asia Region at The World Bank

Indermit Gill is the Chief Economist for Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank, and a principal author of Golden Growth: Restoring the Lustre of the European Economic Model. Before his current position, he worked in East Asia and Latin America, including an assignment in Brazil. He was the Director of the 2009 World Development Report, Reshaping Economic Geography, and a principal author of An East Asian Renaissance. He has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, and an M.A. from the Delhi School of Economics.
