Ingo Borchert

Senior Lecturer at University Of Sussex

Ingo Borchert is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sussex and a Fellow of the UK Trade Policy Observatory. He has been an Economist at the World Bank, Washington DC, from 2008-2011, where he co-created the widely used “Services Trade Restrictions Database.” He has published in leading academic journals on the effects of services trade restrictions on trade costs, investment, and access to services, and currently advises the World Trade Organisation and the World Bank on constructing the global “Services Trade Policy Database.” He has been an invited speaker on services policies at the OECD, APEC, the EU-China Trade Project, and has recently advised the House of Lords on UK services trade. His expertise also encompasses structural gravity modelling of trade and trade costs in services. Ingo holds a PhD in Economics and Finance from the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland. Staff website
