Ivan Deseatnicov is an assistant professor at the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, HSE University. Previously, he was an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Business Sciences, University of Tsukuba (2016-2018), visiting lecturer at Waseda University (2017) and Sichuan University (2018-2019, 2021-2023), postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University (2015-2016), and research associate at the Faculty of Political Science and Economics, Waseda University (2012-2015). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Waseda University in 2013. His research interests focus on international trade and investment (FDI), global value chains, and export controls/technological decoupling. He has published in various academic journals including Emerging Markets Review, Applied Economics, International Economics, Economics Systems Research, and has presented his research at numerous conferences and seminars.
