James Tybout

Professor, Department of Economics at Pennsylvania State University

James Tybout received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1980. Thereafter he taught at Georgetown University until 1999, when he moved to Pennsylvania State University. He served as a Co-editor of the Journal of International Economics from 2002 through 2005 and has been a Research Associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research since 2001. Most of his research concerns industrial sector problems in developing countries, especially issues relating to trade and productivity. His publications include papers in Econometrica, Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Economic Review, Journal of Economic Literature, Journal of International Economics, and Review of Economics and Statistics.
