Professor Jenny Corbett is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR, London). She was Distinguished Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at ANU until 2017 and is now Emeritus Professor there. She was Reader in the Economy of Japan at the University of Oxford until 2019 and a Governing Body Fellow at St Antony's College until 2014. She is now Emeritus Fellow, St Antony's College . She is currently a Project Professor at the Tokyo College at the University of Tokyo and Adjunct Professor at the Griffith Asia Institute, Griffith University. She has a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan. Her research centres on current macro-economic and financial policy issues in Japan, regional financial integration and trade in financial services. She has provided research and advice to regional multilateral institutions and to the Australian and Japanese governments on financial stability, regulation and integration. She is also a member of the Australia-New Zealand Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee and a member of the Advisory Board on Political Economy for the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum. Her publications include edited volumes with Magnus Blomstrom, Fumio Hayashi and Anil Kashyap, Structural Impediments to Growth in Japan, Chicago University Press for NBER, 2003; with Anne Daly, Hisa Matsushige and Dehne Taylor, Laggards and Leaders in Labour Market Reform: Comparing Japan and Australia, London: Routledge, July 2009; and with Ying Xu, Rebalancing Economies in Financial Integrating East Asia, London & New York: Routledge in 2015. In 2014 she was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for contribution to Australia-Japan relations by the Emperor of Japan.
