Jens Südekum is a Professor of International Economics at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf. He is a CEPR Research Fellow and also affiliated with the CESifo Institute in Munich, the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in Nuremberg and the IZA in Bonn. The main focus of his research is on international trade (firm heterogeneity, multinational enterprises, cross-border mergers) and on regional and urban economics (agglomeration, local industry compositions, city size distributions). Jens is a Co-editor of the Journal of Regional Science, serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Urban Economics and various other journals, and is a former member of the council of the Urban Economics Association (UEA).
