Johannes Wieland

Associate Professor of Economics at University of California, San Diego

Johannes Wieland an Associate Professor of Economics and Distinguished Endowed Chair in Macroeconomics and Public Finance at the University of California, San Diego. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. His research interests are in macroeconomics and economic history, with a focus on economies in deep recessions. Johannes holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, U.K., an M.Phil in Economics from the University of Oxford, U.K., and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. From 2018 to 2019 he worked as a Research Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
