John Holbein

Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University

John Holbein is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Brigham Young University. He received his Ph.D. in public policy from Duke in 2016 and was a research fellow at the Center for the Study of Democratic Politics (CSDP) at Princeton University in 2017. He has expertise on the topics of American political behavior, civic engagement, education policy, and methods for causal inference. He has published in the American Political Science Review, the American Journal of Political Science, the Economics of Education Review, and Education Finance and Policy. His work has received two large grants from the National Science Foundation. He has served as an expert witness in a voting rights case and his work has been covered by outlets such as the Washington Post, New York Magazine, the Boston Globe, NPR, Bloomberg, Politico, Fast Company, Salon, Business Insider, and FiveThirtyEight.
