John Springford is a Senior Research Fellow, working on economic issues, at the Centre for European Reform in London. He acted as Secretary to the CER’s commission on the economic consequences of leaving the EU, which published its final report in June 2014. Before joining the CER, he worked at the Social Market Foundation and CentreForum think-tanks. He studied at Oxford and Glasgow universities and at the London School of Economics. John has contributed opinion pieces to various newspapers, including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and the Daily Telegraph. He commentates regularly on economic issues for the broadcast media.
