John Voorheis

John Voorheis is a Principal Economist in the Center for Economic Studies at the US Census Bureau. He joined the Census Bureau in 2016, and has spent the last 8 years working with the Census Bureau's data linkage infrastructure, focusing on linking survey and administrative data to answer questions at the intersection of public and environmental economics. His research focuses on understanding the distribution of exposure to environmental hazards and the causes and consequences of these exposures. At the Census Bureau, he leads a research group which is building a confidential microdata infrastructure called the Environmental Impacts Frame, which combines administrative records and geospatial hazards information to facilitate research and public facing data products focused on better understanding environmental inequality.
