Jorge Martinez-Vazquez is a Professor of Economics and Director of the International Studies Program at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University. He enjoys worldwide recognition as a leading expert on fiscal decentralisation, tax policy and administration and fiscal management.
He has worked as Consultant for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Inter American development Bank, USAID, the governments of many countries and state governments in USA, and is member of the Panel of Fiscal Experts of the International Monetary Fund. Dr. Martinez-Vazquez has directed, managed and served as a Senior Economist on projects in over 40 transitional and developing countries around the world. He is the author of numerous academic and policy articles and books on tax reform, tax administration and intergovernmental fiscal relations reform issues.
