Joseph Sassoon

Macroeconomic Analyst at European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)

Joseph Sassoon is a Macroeconomic Analyst at the EBRD Office of the Chief Economist. He holds a Masters in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona School of Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics from the University of Cape Town. At the EBRD, Joseph contributes to the flagship Transition Report and Regional Economic Prospects. Currently he is working on projects related to how trade and global supply chains have shifted since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Prior to joining EBRD, Joseph worked on South African government policy at Xesibe Holdings where he was the Lead of Data and Insights and as a pre-doctoral fellow at the University of Zurich where he researched topics related to economic history and political economy.
