Josh Pinkston

Assistant Professor of Economics at University Of Louisville

Josh Pinkston is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Louisville. His research interests include the economics of labour markets and health. He is best known for studying information in labour markets, including asymmetric employer learning and statistical discrimination. His more recent work includes studies of obesity, and the relationship between local alcohol laws and illegal drugs. Before moving to Louisville in 2009, Josh worked as a Research Economist in the Office of Employment and Unemployment Statistics at the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and taught at Johns Hopkins University. He has a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Auburn University.
