Juan José Cruces is the Director of the Center for Financial Research (CIF) at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a full-time Professor of Financial Economics and was formerly Dean of the Business School. Universidad Torcuato Di Tella is a leading private university in Argentina and its Business School is ranked among the best 10 in Latin America. He specialises on issues related to emerging market finance. In recent years he has worked on sovereign debt restructurings, on benchmarking stock markets in Latin America relative to the rest of the world, and on the real estate market. His work has been published by American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, by Stanford University Press, by the Emerging Markets Review and by the Emory International Law Review (forthcoming). He has been a Consultant to private and public institutions including the Inter-American Development Bank, the Chilean Securities and Exchange Commission, and financial institutions. He has been an Expert Witness before the Argentine Securities and Exchange Commission, and has provided expert testimony before the Argentine Congress.
