Jules Hugot has been an Assistant Professor at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, in Bogotá, since 2015. He has collaborated with CEPII on numerous occasions and conducted policy work for Bruegel and the OECD. He received an undergraduate degree in Political Sciences from Sciences Po Paris and in Sociology from Université Denis Diderot, before then receiving his Master and PhD in Economics from Sciences Po Paris. His research focuses on economic history and international trade, with a particular interest for the “First Globalization” of the nineteenth century.
