Research Analyst at International Monetary Fund

Julia Estefania Flores is a research analyst at the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She previously worked as a research officer in the Research Department of the IMF. Her current work focuses on macroeconomic effects of trade restrictions, quantification of forecasting accuracy and distributional effects of monetary policy. Before joining the IMF, she worked as a research assistant at the Bank of Spain where she was a member of the European Central Bank (ECB) International Relations Committee (IRC) Task Force on IMF issues. She holds a master's degree in international relations - specialized in International Economics by Comillas Pontific University and a double degree in Political Science and Sociology by the Carlos III University of Madrid. Julia's research interests comprise international trade, development and economic growth as well as political economy topics including comparative politics and institutional quality.
