Juliane Begenau is an Associate Professor of Finance at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to that, she taught at Harvard Business School. She is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Research Affiliate at CEPR, and a Foreign Editor at the Review of Economic Studies. Her research focus is the interplay of the real economy with financial markets and financial institutions. Begenau earned her Ph.D. in economics at Stanford University. Her undergraduate degree, also in economics, is from Humboldt University in Berlin.
