Kamil Yilmaz is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics at Koç University since 1994. He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1992. In his research, Professor Yilmaz has focused on financial networks, systemic risk and time-series econometrics, as well as macroeconomics and international trade. He has published two books and close to 50 articles international in refereed journals such as the Journal of Finance, Economic Journal, Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Applied Econometrics, Journal of Financial Econometrics, Journal of Development Economics, and World Bank Economic Review and in edited books. He received the Encouragement Award in Social Sciences from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA) in 2003 and was elected as a member of the Science Academy Turkey in 2016. Professor Yilmaz visited the Department of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003-2004 and 2010-2011 academic years. He served as the director of Koç University-TUSIAD Economic Research Forum (2007-2009) and the associate director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Koç University (2015-2018).
