Kaoru Hosono

Professor of Economics at Gakushuin University

Kaoru Hosono is a Professor of Economics at Gakushuin University. He is interested in macroeconomics and finance, with an emphasis in empirical research in these areas. His specific interests are in banking regulations, corporate finance, monetary policy, and aggregate productivity. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Hitotsubashi University. His recent studies have been on the effects of natural disasters on firm dynamics including investment, export, entry/exit, and relocation, and on the transmission of monetary policy. He is a member of the Study group for Earthquake and Enterprise Dynamics (SEEDs).
