Karlo Kauko

Adviser, Financial Stability and Statistics at Bank Of Finland

Karlo Kauko is an adviser at the Financial Stability and Statistics department of the Bank of Finland and a docent (adjunct professor) at the Aalto University. He has a doctorate in economics from the Helsinki School of Economics. His research publications explore various aspects of money, banking, financial markets, monetary history and crises.  He has also worked as an economist at the central bank of Norway and at the ESRB Secretariat. He has also been lecturing at the University of Oulu (Finland). Moreover, he has worked as a short-term consultant for the IMF and the World Bank. In 2019, he worked at the Bank of Finland Institute for Economies in Transition, BOFIT, focusing on the Chinese banking industry
