Karsten Mau is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics (SBE). He obtained his PhD in Economics from Hamburg University, while he also worked as a researcher at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA). After obtaining his PhD in 2015, he held a lecturer position at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg, before moving to Maastricht in late 2017. His research focuses on China’s trade relations with Europe and on the impact of trade policies on international trade patterns and economic activity more generally.
