Kiyoyasu Tanaka is a Center-of-Excellence (COE) Researcher at the Institute of Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University. He holds a B.A. in International Economics from Chuo University in Japan, and a M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. Prior to the current affiliation, he served as a Project Assistant for the Northeast Asia Economic Forum (NEAEF) in Hawaii and held teaching appointments in economics at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His research interests include empirical analysis of the determinants and effects of FDI, comparative analysis of Japanese and U.S. multinational activity, and productivity in service industries.
