Kristin F. Butcher is Vice President and Director of Micro Economic Research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She is the inaugural holder of the Marshall I. Goldman Chair of Economics at Wellesley College, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a non-resident Senior Fellow at Brookings. She is an applied micro economist whose research focuses on immigration, health, education, and criminal justice. She received a PhD and an MA in Economics from Princeton University, an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a BA in Economics from Wellesley College. Her research is published in leading journals such as the Journal of Economic Perspectives, the Quarterly Journal of Economics, the Journal of Health Economics, the Journal of Labor Economics, and the Journal of Human Resources.
