Kristina Morkunaite

Senior Research Assistant, Global Macroeconomic Analysis department at Institute of International Finance

Kristina Morkunaite is a Senior Research Assistant in the Global Macroeconomic Analysis department at the Institute of International Finance. In her current role, she focuses on global cross-country macroeconomic research, following and analysing economic indicators and policy announcements, and carrying out risk scenario analysis and research on topical issues. In addition, she is responsible for establishing macroeconomic forecasts for the Eurozone. Kristina was part of the Europe team, focusing on macroeconomic research of select countries in the CEE/CIS region, and contributing to the expansion of the Institute’s country coverage to the Eurozone periphery. From 2007 to 2009 she worked for the ECB in Frankfurt, first as a Trainee at the Financial Stability Division and then as a Research Analyst in the Liquidity Management, Market Operations Analysis Division. She was also a Research Assistant at Bruegel, a Brussels-based think tank. Kristina holds a BSc from Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and an MSc in Financial Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
