Lars Norden

Associate Professor of Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Director of the Risk Management Programme, Duisenberg School of Finance at University Of Amsterdam

Lars Norden is Associate Professor of Finance at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and Academic Director of the Master of Science in Finance & Investments Programme. He is also Director of Risk Management Programme at the Duisenberg School of Finance and Duisenberg Research Fellow. Before joining RSM in fall 2009, he was Assistant Professor at the University of Mannheim from 2004 to 2009. He was visiting Indiana University (2007-2008) and the research center of the Deutsche Bundesbank (2002-2004). His research interests include financial intermediation, empirical banking, credit derivatives, credit ratings, and empirical finance. He presented his work at major conferences (e.g., American Economic Association, American Finance Association, Western Finance Association, European Finance Association and Financial Intermediation Research Society) and has been published in journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance, Journal of Banking and Finance, and Small Business Economics. He holds a doctoral degree in business administration from the University of Mannheim (2004) and graduate degrees from the University of Mannheim (2000) and ESSEC Business School (2000).
