Prof. Dr. Lion Hirth is founder and director of Neon, a boutique energy economics consulting firm and Professor at Hertie School in Berlin. He is an energy economist and expert in renewable energy, electricity market design, and energy policy. Lion has advised clients across the private and public sectors, often with a focus on the design of electricity markets. Among others, he has led projects for the International Energy Agency, utilities, ENTSO-E, the European Commission, and Germany’s Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. Until 2014, Lion worked as analyst for the Swedish utility Vattenfall.
