Lourdes Acedo Montoya is the Deputy Head of the Global Economy Unit at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs. She has held various positions as an economist within the European Commission over the past decade, with a focus on macroeconomic issues. As a fiscal policy expert, she worked on the evaluation and policy design of the Economic Adjustment Programme for Portugal. Prior to joining the European Commission, she was a teaching assistant at the College of Europe from where she holds a Master’s degree in European Economics. She also studied in Seville (Spain) and Maastricht (the Netherlands).
