Luc Bauwens was born in Bukavu (Congo) on October 5th 1952. He got a PhD in Economics from Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) for which he received the Leonard J. Savage Thesis Award in 1984. He is Full Professor at UCL, where he has chaired the Economics Department and is currently the Research Director of CORE. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Econometrics and the Journal of Applied Econometrics. He has published several books and papers in the fields of Bayesian inference in econometrics, financial econometrics, international trade, and the evaluation of scientific research.
