Luca Papi

Professor of Economics at Università Politecnica Delle Marche

Luca Papi is Full Professor of Economics at the Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy), and member of MoFiR (Money and Finance Research Group). He has also worked in national authorities and international organisations. He was appointed Director General of the Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino (2005-2010). In his previous positions he served as Financial Sector Specialist in the Governance and Finance Division of the Asian Development Bank (Manila), as Financial Economist in the Financial Sector Development Department of the World Bank (Washington D.C.) and as an Economist in the Research Department of the Central Bank of Italy (Rome). He has a degree in economics from the University of Bologna (Italy), an M.Phil in monetary economics from the University of Glasgow (U.K.), and a PhD in economics from the University of Ancona (Italy). His main research interests focus on banking and financial sector issues.
