Lukas Wellner is a PhD candidate in development economics at the University of Göttingen. He holds a Master degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor degree in International Economics and Development from the University of Bayreuth. His research is at the intersection of political economy and development economics and examines the implementation and impact of international development finance with case studies from the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Chinese development finance.
