Lukasz Rachel is an assistant professor at the Department of Economics at University College London (UCL). During the 2021-2022 academic year he was a postdoctoral research associate in The Louis A. Simpson Center for the Study of Macroeconomics and the Department of Economics at Princeton University. He is an affiliate of Centre for Macroeconomics and a member of Dobrobyt na Pokolenia (Prosperity for Generations). In 2017/18 he was visiting the Department of Economics at Harvard University as a Fulbright Fellow. From 2008 to 2021 he worked at the Bank of England. His research includes theoretical and empirical work on economic growth, the impact of technology on the labor market, drivers of income and wealth inequality, forces shaping long-term trends in real interest rates, and optimal design of stabilisation and structural policies.
