Manfred Gilli is Professor at the Department of Econometrics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where he teaches Numerical Methods in Economics and Ginance. His main research activity concerns the solution of large and sparse systems of equations, heuristic optimisation methods, agent based models of financial markets, as well as parallel computing. He is the current President of the Society for Computational Economics and he is a member of the Editorial Board of the series Advances in Computational Economics and the series Advances in Computational Management Sciences, published by Springer, the board of Associate Editors of the journal Computational Economics and the Advisory Board of Computational Statistics and Data Analysis.
