Maria Casanova

Maria Casanova is an assistant professor at Mihaylo College of Business and Economics, at California State University, Fullerton. Before joining CSUF, she was an assistant professor at UCLA. She got her Ph.D. in Economics from University College London. Dr. Casanova's area of research is labor economics, with a focus on the economics of aging. She has studied the factors that determine retirement decisions; the incentives that lead spouses to coordinate their retirement dates; and how financial literacy affects how much individuals save for retirement and how they allocate their wealth across different asset classes. Dr. Casanova's research has been supported by the National Institute on Aging, the Social Security Administration, and the California Center for Population Research.
