Mario Mariniello

Research Fellow at Bruegel

Mario Mariniello is Research Fellow at Bruegel since October 2012. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Organization from the European University Institute of Fiesole (Florence) and a M.Sc. in Economics from CORIPE (Turin). From 2007 to 2012, Mario was a member of the Chief Economist Team at Dg-Competition, European Commission. During the time he spent at the European Commission, he developed the economic analysis of a number of topical Antitrust and Merger cases. He also participated to the drafting of the new European Guidelines for the application of Art.101 TFEU to Horizontal Cooperation Agreements. Mario's research work at Bruegel focuses on competition and innovation, anti-competitive horizontal agreements, competition policy and growth.
