Marit Skivenes

Marit Skivenes is a professor in political science at the Department of Government and the director of the Centre for Research on Discretion and Paternalism, University of Bergen, Norway. Skivenes is the PI of several international research projects on child rights, child protection systems, and welfare state including an ERC Consolidator grant. Skivenes has published numerous scientific works on decision-making, government interventions, child protection systems and broader welfare issues, as well as being an editor on the Global typology of child protection systems published at Oxford University Press. Skivenes also lead the government appointed committee on rule of law and child protection that resulted in a Norwegian Official Report (NOU 2023: 7). Photo credit: Eivind Senneset
