Mark McGovern

PhD candidate in Economics at University College London

Mark McGovern is a PhD candidate in Economics at University College Dublin, and currently a PGDA Fellow at the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies. He is also involved in the Irish component of the SHARE study at the Geary Institute. His research deals mainly with the lasting impact of childhood health, and how initial conditions can affect outcomes throughout the life cycle. He is currently pursuing the extent to which health behaviours can be influenced by early life conditions. Other interests include research at the intersection of psychology and economics, the role of social networks in the ageing process, and development economics.
