Mark Schaffer is Professor of Economics at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. His fields of research include economic reform in transition and emerging economies, enterprise restructuring and performance, labour markets, applied econometrics, and energy economics. Prof. Schaffer is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and IZA, the Institute for the Study of Labor.
