Senior Economist at Inter-american Development Bank

Marta Rubio-Codina is a senior economist at the Social Protection and Health Division of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington DC. Prior to joining the IDB, she was a senior researcher at the Institute for Fiscal Studies in London. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Toulouse and works on issues related to poverty alleviation and human capital promotion, particularly in the early years. She has extensive experience implementing and evaluating large scale parenting interventions in Colombia, India and Peru. Marta is also interested in measurement issues and specifically in the identification of cost-efficient instruments to measure early childhood development (ECD) outcomes in young children. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the British Medical Journal, Plos Medicine, the Journal of Development Economics, and the American Economic Journal. Areas of interest: development economics, impact evaluation, applied microeconometrics, early childhood development, parenting interventions, measurement of child development, public policy, data analysis, econometrics project management, sample and survey design and fieldwork.
