Martin West

Martin West is an Assistant Professor of Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Deputy Director of the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard’s Kennedy School, and Executive Editor of Education Next, a journal of opinion and research on education policy. He has published widely in academic journals on education policy issues including class-size reduction, school choice, teacher labor markets, and test-based accountability policies. Before joining the Harvard faculty, West was on the faculty of Brown University and a Research Fellow at the Brookings Institution. He received his Ph.D. in Government and Social Policy from Harvard in 2006 and his M.Phil. in Economic and Social History from Oxford University in 2000.
