Massimiliano Onorato is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Bologna. His research interests include political economics, economic history, and the political economy of development. He is author of the book From Warfare to Wealth: The Military Origins of Urban Prosperity in Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2017; coauthored with M. Dincecco). This book is the winner of the 2018 William H. Riker Best Book Award (American Political Science Association, Political Economy Section).
